Vision is Blocked
Robot travels a short distance, stops, then asks user to clear its path
Faulty Laser
Start up your robot and see if laser on top is rotating to scan the room. If laser is spinning consider using compressed air to clean the laser. If not, consider replacing the laser using Neato Botvac 80 Laser Replacement.
Blocked Path
Make sure nothing is blocking the robot, it is flat on the ground, and there are no cords tangled. If problem persists, charge the robot until the light is solid green.
Won't Charge
Robot will not hold a battery charge or turn on
Faulty Battery
If robot does not turn on or charges, leaves base, and then returns after only a few minutes consider replacing the battery using this Neato Botvac 80 Battery Replacement.
Faulty Charge Dock
Make sure the dock is plugged in and the robot fully touches the charging contacts. If no charge indicator lights up on the robot, a new charger may need to be purchased.
Device not Cleaning Efficiently
Robot seems to lose its effectiveness while cleaning
Blockage in Filter and/or Suction Region
Make sure to clean the brushes and filter as they accumulate debris after frequent usage.
Battery Calibration Required
Every once in a while, the robot needs a calibration to improve battery performance.
Botvac Not Responding
Robot does not respond to button commands, and may even not turn on
Battery Improper Seating
Make sure the battery is seated correctly. If the battery is not properly installed remove and reset it.
Software Glitch
If the robot seems to be fully charged but will not move or the LCD does not show up, there may be a problem with the software. Unfortunately Neato no longer provides software updates for the Botvac 80, although some users have had success by letting the robot's battery fully drain and charging it to full.
Keeps Getting Stuck
The robot will continually get stuck or run into doors/walls.
Dirty Robot
The robot may be dirty you can clean the sensors with a Q-Tip on the sensors to remove any dust, use an air compressor to blow out the filter and dust bin, and clean off the brushes, remove any hair from anywhere you can. Replace the brush using Neato Botvac 80 Brush Replacement.
Faulty Wheels
There may be a problem with the robot's wheels. they might be dirty and a simple cleaning might help. Other than that the wheels might be damaged and you'll need to replace them. Try replacing the wheels with Neato Botvac 80 Wheel Replacement.

The problem I have with my Neato is, it continually gives an error message saying, “My brush is stuck, free my brush.” I have cleaned the brush three times now, it’s very clean, including the bearings. I am still getting the Free my brush error message.

If you pull out the brush, you’ll see that little orange piece sticking out of the side. Pull on that to free it and make sure it spins.

My Neato keeps getting stuck on the wall. I’ve cleaned the sensor with a Q-tip and dust spray. It’s still doing the same thing. I just runs right into the first wall it encounters and says it’s stuck. What should I do? It’s only 6 months old.

I’ve had this problem in the past, and replacing the battery, then running it as instructed (from full charge to empty 3 times in a row) resolved the issue… around a year later the problem came back, and again I’ve changed the battery and it was mostly solved again. Now I’m having the same error intermittently, and I can usually fix it by pressing the dust bin harder down. I’m planning on opening the unit and cleaning the button contact or pulling the spring back to shape to see if it helps.
Trying to get as much live out of this little fella :)

My Neato botvac blows a lot of air out the back causing it to blow dirt that it hasn’t picked up yet when it turns to clean another path. Does anyone else have this issue or it blows very little?

It is tells me to turn the inside switch to on. I will turn it off and then back on. Will not vacuum because it thinks that the switch is in the off position.

I have a neato d5 and it has a solid green light. When I open the bin it flashes a red light and makes a noise. I put the bin back in clean all the sensors and it wont start. I am going to clean the laser later, but would that be a navigation issue? Or could it be something else? Tried calling neato guy was no help and said I should send it in. We all know how much they would probably charge just to look at the dumb thing. I did just replace the battery too. It no longer connects to my phone. Please help!

I had to replace a wheel assembly on my Botvac Connected. Now it tells me to set it down, even though it is on the floor. I'm assuming it is either wiring or motherboard. I took it apart again and checked wire connections and they all appeared to be good. Any suggestions?

You need a new battery. Mine used to do that and issue resolved when I put in a new battery. You can buy them on Amazon.

Folks, for an error 3000 (laser/lidar) issue check that the openings for both the laser and receiving lens are clear of obstructions. Spiders are known to climb into one or both ports on the drum and make webs/egg sacs in there. Remove with a toothpick or similar being careful not to damage the lens/laser. Not kidding. The belt and motor were fine; the web just obscured the lens opening in the drum.

my D is this a softwa80 is dead .talked to tech and was told to replace mother board . I have 50 plus years of working in electronics , building and installing all kinds of Pcbs, so I replaced it myself, made sure on all harness connections were ok . now when I turn it on the start button turns red then green then shuts off. have turned switch off and on several times but nothing works. the charger shows green lite when I look in the back of it so it is working . tried plugging it in in different places too . Is this a software problem ?

Neato d80 won’t charge… tried a new battery and charging dock. Just replaced the motherboard and still nothing. When I connect to the dock it will act as if it’s charging but as soon as the led screen goes black it stops. Any help is greatly appreciated
