Background and Identification
The PowerBook 180 is the top of the line PowerBook from Apple with the PowerBook 140 series. It was introduced in October of1992 and discontinued in May of 1994. Specs include a 68030 processor at 33mhz, an 80/120 MB SCSI hard drive, and a 1.44 MB floppy disk drive.
The PowerBook 180 was released at the same time as the PowerBook 160, offering users an upgrade to the former PowerBook 170. The laptop included notable upgrades, including more powerful processing and a power-saving feature.
The original PowerBook 180 sported only grayscale, but Apple released the PowerBook 180c just a few months later in June of 1993. The PowerBook 180c featured a color display and was the first PowerBook to have a 640 x 480 pixel resolution.
