Device will not turn on

When the power button is pressed, the device does not turn on.

Poorly plugged-in

Make sure the plug is fully in the outlet and the power cord is not being strained or hit by something.

Outlet is not working

To test this, simply unplug the device from the outlet and try to see if another device works in that outlet. If it doesn’t, it is most likely that there is an issue with the outlet and not the device. This may require assistance from an electrician to replace the outlet or to check that the circuit breakers are feeding power to the outlet.

Device tripped the circuit breaker

To test this, simply remove all other devices from the outlet and then test the heater. If it does not work, an electrician or knowledge of the circuit breakers may be required to make sure power is being fed to the outlet. To make sure the device is not causing the problem, plug it into another outlet if your building still has power.

Control panel is not working

Should the control panel on the top of the device be non-responsive to any touch or is broken, follow this control panel replacement guide to get it fixed.

To fix this, you will need to open the device by following the internal fuse replacement guide and observe for any blown fuses inside the device.

Blown fuse

To fix this, you will need to open the device by following the internal fuse replacement guide and observe for any blown fuses inside the device.

Faulty ACLI safety plug or damaged cable

Observe the device’s cable for any visible damages or kinks. Check if the ACLI plug has any damage to the casing, prongs, or buttons. Should either the cable or plug feature any damage, follow this ACLI safety plug + cable replacement guide to get it fixed.

Device creates loud noises

While operating, the device creates unexpected noises.

Loose part

To fix this, you will need to open the device by simply following the first few steps of our fan replacement guide. Check if there are any visible loose parts or objects anywhere in the heater.

Fan obstruction

To fix this, you will need to open the device and look at the fan. To do this, simply follow the first few steps of our fan replacement guide and see if there are any objects blocking the fan, or if the fan is out of place and is hitting something while it operates. To fix this, you will need to screw the fan in more tightly to free it from obstructions.

Device is not outputting enough heat

The device is running, but it is not warm enough, or the airflow is not strong.

Heat is not set to high

The heater has a Low Heat, High Heat, and a 1-Hour Auto-Off setting. To increase the heat, change the setting to High Heat.

Filter needs to be cleaned

Fan-based space heaters have filters in them to protect the fan from dust and other gunk. A dirty filter may cause the fan to be covered in dust and have weakened airflow. To fix this, you will simply need to clean the Lasko device.

Device is suddenly turning off

While the device is running and correctly plugged in, the device randomly turns off.

Overheating

Heaters may have high temperatures if running for a long period of time, so they have a safety mechanism put in place to make sure it does not overheat to prevent damage to itself or its surroundings. In order to fix the device, it must be shut off and allowed to cool down for 10 minutes — which will also trigger the reset mechanism and allow the device to function normally again.

1-hour limit

The Lasko CD08200 has a built-in 1-hour timer setting to shut the device off as a safety measure to prevent overheating. To keep using the heater, simply change the setting to high heat or low heat. You may also be forced to unplug the device for 10 minutes — which will trigger the reset mechanism and allow the device to function normally again if it has overheated.

Blown fuse

To fix this, you will need to open the device by following the internal fuse replacement guide and observe for any blown fuses inside the device.

Device constantly overheats

While in operation, the device gets too hot.

Dirty/clogged heater

The Lasko manual advises its owners to clean their Lasko device every two weeks, as dust or gunk building up within the heater can cause the device to overheat too soon.

Poor performance of the fan/motor

The device may overheat due to the lackluster performance of the fan and its motor. If the heat is not propelled quickly enough out of the device, the device will overheat sooner. To fix this, you will need to follow this fan replacement guide.

3 Commenti

I just got the CD08200 heater, all three red lights on top were blinking. I unplugged it and the lights went out and It started working again. What caused this?

This sounds like a fault with the cables routing to the mainboard or perhaps the ACLI feature on the cable. The safety plug and it's routed internal cables play a role with power flow, though having all 3 lights lit may also be an error. What I do know is that devices tend to behave erratically if the device has short circuited and could explain the issue you're currently experiencing with your Lasko.

Perhaps searching about those three lights may provide answers? It could be an error or an issue with power flow to the device itself.
