Shoulder Triggers Stop Responding

The controllers L and R buttons don't do anything when pressed and don’t act like they received input.

L/R Buttons Are Jammed

Look around the button to see if any small debris has gotten between the button and remove it with a small plastic tool (*Warning metal could damage any exposed components). Apply a little force down on each button to see if it frees the button. If all of this fails, you'll need to open the controller and manually move the buttons to free them. (Click here to view)

L/R Buttons Are Misaligned

Ensure the plastic ports are not damaged by making sure it is still intact and a full circle. The purpose of this is to ensure the buttons used to take the inputs as well as the buttons themselves are actually doing their job as intended due to the buttons themselves not actually locking in place and resting in a hole. Receiver Is Damaged

Open the controller to view the buttons (*Unscrew the back and use a part separate to pull the back shell off). Remove the board and manually click the button at the top of the board to see if it works. If no input is received remove the part (*Warning to avoid damaging the board use a part separator) and get a replacement receiver. If the board was damaged, you'll need to replace that whole component. (Official Manual For Details)

D-pad and Navigation Buttons Get Stuck and Stop Working

Arrows, Start, Select, and Turbo buttons do not pop out of the controller and are always active inputs or never work.

Plastic Shell is Not Secured

Look around the controller to make sure no gaps are found between the shell pieces. You can tell the controller isn't fully secured if the shell can move or if you can click the entire controller in. If so, take a Phillips Head 000 and tighten the seven screws on the shell. It is fully screwed in when the controller snaps together and the lines between the shells are flush against each other.

Navigation Buttons Are Not Set Up

Plug in your device to a computer. Open the device manager and find the controller listing. Then go to device settings then properties. From there, go to the settings tab and set your buttons. The turbo button may not work on all devices. Before use view if turbo button features are compatible with device. (View Information Here)

Navigation Buttons Stuck to Board

Each button has small plastic tabs to fit into place, these can easily fall out of place and may need to be moved back. The back and start buttons are the same size so make sure you plug the back button into the left opening and the start button into the right opening. (Click here to view)

D-pad Stuck to Board

Unlike other video game controllers this D-pad is mapped just like the face buttons are. The button itself is also placed on one spot that could jam at any point and will need to be popped out by hand to fix it. The rubber between the board and the button could also cause issue and may need cleaning with a dry cloth or cotton. (Click here to view)

Face Buttons Don’t Always Respond

A, B, X, Y Buttons don’t do anything when pressed.

Controller is Not Plugged in Right

Make sure the USB cable is securely plugged in. Check cable for any damages that may be causing it to not work (*Warning don't touch exposed wire if plugged in). Remove the cable and clean it with a dry cloth before trying again.

Buttons Are Jammed

Clean the slots for the buttons to go through as well as the buttons themselves with any cloth. The buttons are each placed on rubber which could cause the buttons to get stuck to something internally depending on the rubber quality. Going clockwise the buttons should be placed in order from Y, B, A, X. (Click here to view)

Buttons Not Properly Attached to Board

Between the buttons and the board is a small detachable piece of rubber. If you remove it from the device, you can use a slightly wet rag to clean it. If the rubber isn't perfectly placed on the board the buttons won't register as being pressed. Going clockwise the buttons should be placed in order from Y, B, A, X. (Click here to view)

Analog Stick Drift

Analog stick moves on its own.

Calibration is Off

After pairing the controller with a computer, open the device manager and find the controller listing. Then go to device settings then properties. From there, go to the settings tab and calibrate the controller. If the controller is still drifting reset, it through the properties page. (View Information Here)

Analog Stick is Dirty/Sticky

Use air or a small piece of cloth to gently clean around the and slightly under the analog stick (*be gentle as not to scratch the analog stick). If it is really dirty remove just the stick (*be gentle as too much force could completely ruin the potentiometer). and wash it. Once dry, reattach it to the device. Both analog sticks are the same and can go on either port or work right. (Click here to view)

The Potentiometer is Damaged

Potentiometer is the piece the analog stick is attached to. Open the device and gently remove the analog sticks (*be gentle as too much force could completely ruin the potentiometer). Check to make sure the potentiometer is clean and not damaged. If it is, order a replacement and switch it out. It is directly connected to the board and may need a part separator to remove it, you'll also need to avoid damaging the board itself. (Official Manual For Details)

Face Light Will Not Light Up

Home Menu light doesn’t light up when plugged in

Controller is Not Plugged in Right

Make sure the USB cable is securely plugged in. Check cable for any damages that may be causing it to not work (*Warning don't touch exposed wire if plugged in). Remove the cable and clean it with a dry cloth before trying again.

USB Port is Damaged

Use another device to make sure the USB port is at fault and not the controller. Even if the USB isn't compatible with the device if the port works it will make the controller light up. If the USB port is damaged, use another available port or replace the damaged port.

Light is Dead

If the controller works fine but the light doesn't turn on the light itself is dead. The lights are attached directly to the board, so you'll need to remove the board (*Unscrew the back and use a part separate to pull the back shell off, the detach all wires to the board and pull it out). The controller is also fully functional without the light. (Official Manual For Details)

Controller Not Responding to Input

The controller buttons don't appear to do anything when pressed.

USB Cable is Improperly Plugged in

Ensure the wire isn’t damaged before use. Make sure the cable is securely plugged into a USB port. Check to see it lights up if not you'll know it is a wire problem.

Program/Device Does Not Support Controller

If on computer, ensure you have the driver downloaded. The program or game being used may not support controller input so check beforehand if it does allow it. If you don't know what devices work with the controller visit the company's official website. (View Information Here)

USB Port is Damaged
