Seagate had a bad batch this/last generation. Many of my repairs/replacements were Seagate. Western Digital has been most reliable this decade. Esp the ‘raptor' drives, if not doing SSD.

Right. while possible with a T3, it grinds out the center of the screws, making a hassle for the next guy who has to get in there. T4 feels secure.

If using Large Block HDDs (2TB+?) You have to prep it in windows. (or DOS if you prefer) fat32, and (I believe) set to 4096 cluster size. - I optionally partitioned mine to 4x 500GB for simplicity, and works great. Designate which to install games to in Xbox system. (Windows 10 now)

That's the external HDD USB port. Laptop/external HDDs once again plug&play after quick MS system format.

If/when adding a more powerful magnet, while also having an.. aggressive driving style, would like to recommend securing the magnet with a bit of adhesive/rtv.

Landings and/or lateral slide (drifting) can dislodge magnet, potentially sending into gears for critical failure.

Disconnect the battery connector 1st! (Step 11) then press the power button, to discharge any remaining power still in caps.

After much trial and error, (Ipad mini3 now @ end of life) many have had issues with the l.c.d.s blowing a circuit while disconnecting it's connector, with the battery still connected. While not always, and not for everyone, it is still very possible, especially with a >25% charged battery. The safer alternative only takes a 10sec detour to step11, and wages nothing, just in-case.
