My phone got wet, what do I do?

Although the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active is classified as a water resistant, it is only water resistant up to 1 meter for a period of 30 min. To check if the phone has water damage, remove the battery. Below the battery is a small plastic square that ordinarily is white, if it is red the phone has suffered water damage. Whenever your device gets wet, dry it thoroughly with a clean, soft cloth. If your device is exposed to salt water, wash the device with fresh water then dry thoroughly with a clean, soft cloth. Otherwise, when it dries, salt may accumulate and block the microphone, earpiece, and speaker. When drying off your device, be sure to pat the earpiece (top front of phone), microphone (bottom of phone), and speaker (rear of phone) with a clean, soft cloth to remove as much water as possible. When making a call immediately after your device is wet, the microphone may have water in it which may lower the volume that the other person will hear. After drying off the device, allow the device to air-dry before making a call. If it doesn't work you should check the battery section.

My GS5Active seems to have difficulty turning on. I have to press the power button multiple times, even when the phone is fully charged. What I get initially is a lot of horizontal lines flickering across the screen, then off. I have to repeat pressing the on button several more times, then the phone is fully on. When on, it works perfectly, phone, camera, sound, wi-fi, battery, etc. When fully on, there are no flickering lines on the screen at all. It seems that the problem might be the ON button, but that may be too simplistic. What do you all think ??
