What does it mean when you put it back on the charger and it flashes amber and blue back and forth very fast. I can't find anything with both colors flashing simultaneously very fast

Hi what does it mean if the brush bar spins normally on normal mode but as soon as I switch to max the brush bar stops spinning and power stops. Vacuum is fully charged btw

Brush bar not rotating, I have the fault and the connection between the vacuum and the extender rod doesnt clip in fully. The rod hangs out slightly abt 2mm gap at the bottom where the electric goes. Bar works when I push this close but as soon as try and do any cleaning it stops again. Any suggestions?

Hello, the Motörhead and the hose are both stuck together and The button is jammed tight and cannot remove them both from each other.

I’ve had my Dyson v6 in charge for the past six hours and it still doesn’t vacuum. Incidentally the blue light is not on either and hasn’t been on whilst charging. The light does come on when pressed and then goes off.

My Dyson is working in “pulse mode” for a minute and then shutting off. I tried cleaning the filter and the battery is charged. I’ve been trying to call the Dyson support line for 3 days but just get the message about unusually high call volume. Website was no help either. I’d welcome any advice from anyone since nobody’s answering the phones at Dyson.

Has anyone noticed that the V6 carpet brush bar only works in one direction on some carpets? I have some twist pile rugs and it is a damned nuisance that I can’t just push and pull my vacuum cleaner in the usual way.

SOLUTION TO BRUSH NOT ROTATING :

At least the one that was relevant in my case : just clear of any dust the contacts that are between the collecting bin and the motor head.

Hi everyone ive got dyson v6 works then motor stops after 5/6 seconds, cleaned out the brushes I took motor head apart got dust out of csssing took motor off the mount that works but the spindle where the brushbar sits wasn't working eg spinning . I sprayed it with a lubricant ( wd40 )it now works a. Treat it worked for me

The brush bar will rotate briefly then stop. Tried pulling belt off but same result. Unit stops outputting voltage to the brush bar. Any ideas?

What does it mean when the Dyson turns off, then turns back on except the motorhead. This is not the pulsating on and off. Both the canister and the motorhead will turn on, but then the whole thing shuts off and turns back on, without the motorhead running.

Almost seems like a faulty connection from the main motor down to the motorhead. Not sure how to fix this!

Battery wont charge, flashing red 20+ times. Received a new battery, but same problem. I took it apart, including the large filter inside the basket.

Dyson DS62, have 2 battery’s now that are both giving the 32x red flashes when charging or pressing button. Seems to be a common problem. My 1st replacement battery from Dyson had only ~10 to 15 uses before also showing the red flashes. Dyson is sending me now a 2nd replacement (3rd battery in total). I’m happy its all under warranty though, did now expect that, seems like replacement parts have there own warranty time with them. I did some digging into the battery’s but the cells seems fine, I opened one and did some manual charging and testing and they seem okay. I think the charge controller is to sensitive and raises a “fault / under-voltage” flag that it will remember even though the cells might still be okay. In order to protect users from possible dangers from cells that have been under-voltage.

If my guess is right, I still hope to find a way to reset this “fault flag” so it will work again for some time. Both my red flashing started after fully draining the vacuum, so try to charge it before empty.

Our V7 Motörhead has solid blue light when the trigger is pulled, but does not turn on. They have sent us a new charger and new battery but still nothing. They cannot send us a new one as they’re out of stock. Any ideas?

What does it mean if the hoover is switched on then 20 secs it stops and the blue light flashes 13 times ? Then plug it in charge for 2 seconds then same again !!

I have now solved this problem. Change the battery. As the battery degrade in time the max power of the battery is now having lower reserve Energy when fully charged. Same as your computer and your cell phone when you realize that is no longer have the battery reserve as new. The max mode on the v6 use a lot on power. When the battery have not sufficient energy in full charge it simply won't go to max anymore. It seems that Dyson just program their v6 to stop the max vacuum when the battery that has not sufficient power in full charge anymore. Replace the battery and you will get your v6 as powerful as it was new!

My dyson will work for a few minutes, then dies on me. I don’t have any flashing lights to say battery is low. It’s always on charge. I then plug it on charge for a couple of seconds then it works again.

Hi there. The MAX button on my V6 appears to be draining the battery in around 5 seconds. It is fully charged and will last for 20 mins on normal mode. The V6 is properly cleaned regularly, there are no blockages and the pre-motor filter is new. Does this sound like a battery issue?

I only used my vacuum 5 times and haven’t for a week or two . When I went to use it . There’s a red light flashing. It’s docked in the charged but normally it should yield a blue but it doesn’t .

Got a brand new Dyson v7 Motorhead for x-mass. It stopped working after only 10 minute use.

I tought maybe it needed re-charging, so I plugged it in and waited 24 hours to no avail. It’s still not working!!!!!

My Dyson absolute works well for about 1 minute and then cuts off. When I pull the trigger I get exactly 10 blinking blue lights. I see the same problem other owners have. I plug in the charger for less then 10 seconds and the Dyson works well again. I have completely cleaned the entire unit and there are no clogs. Does anyone have a solution. ???

I ran my electric Dyson when filter was still wet and now it won’t charge. Two blue lights blink when I pull the trigger. Cannot find reset button. Vacuum is less than year old. Lights are on each side of the handle.

My dyson v6 keeps shutting off after a few seconds, I wait a few seconds and then Get more power for another few seconds. I have replaced the battery, cleaned the filter, tried the unplug re plug hold the trigger for 20 seconds. And I do get power but for only a few seconds and it is not ever on the max mode. I called dyson and they say I need a new motor. I bought my mom a dyson and same thing happens to hers, I bought her a new battery too since that is what dyson recommended. The tech support said since I did not clean the filter every single month that the motor goes bad. DID NOT see this in the manual. It does say to clean every month but I don’t use that often. I use my large dyson. So does dyson cordless just have poor product then? Or is there a fix

The tall skinny top filter is almost impossible to clean. You can take it apart, but it's a pain. You can buy replacement top filters on Amazon for $2-$3 each. Replacing that filter solves most of the filter related problems that cleaning doesn't fix.
