Verical lines in the LCD
Are vertical lines (dead pixels) in my LCD display caused by a bad CCFT tube or something within the LCD glass panes?

Move the lid up and down and observe the lines. Your most likely suspect would be the display data cable: http://www.ifixit.com/PowerBook-Parts/G4...
