Touch Screen Issues

The touch screen may not respond to human interaction and touch commands.

Screen Does Not Illuminate

Check that the computer is powered on, if not, power on the computer. If the computer is powered on and screen does not respond, proceed to turn off and reboot the computer. (power off then back on)

Failure of the screen could be from the computer itself or the actual screen. To check, connect the Samsung Notebook 7 Spin to a portable video source. A television that has an HDMI connection, or another monitor. Once connected, power on the computer and observe the second monitor. If the computer boots up and functions normally, the computer screen could have loose or faulty wiring and should be replaced. Replace the screen using this guide.

Once connected to a monitor and the second monitor does not register the computer or remains black, the issue is the computer itself.

Touch Not Responsive on Screen

Commonly on touch enabled computers, the touch capability may be disabled. To enable the touch, first open the Device Manager  option in Windows. Scroll down the list to find HID- Human Interface Devices. Open that menu by clicking on the small arrow to the left of the item. You will find HID- Compliant touch screen. Right click the option and click on Enable Device.

With the device enabled, touch capabilities should be restored. If the computer is still unresponsive, verify that the driver is updated with the latest software. You can also click on Update Driver from the same menu under  HID- Compliant touch screen from step above.

Crack On Screen

A cracked screen will not only look terrible on a computer but, will render the screen unusable if left unchecked

To replace your cracked or fractured Samsung Notebook 7 Spin touch screen, follow this guide.

Slow Computer Performance

The computer may take time to respond to inputs, or may stall when trying to execute basic operations

Not Enough RAM

Computer’s performance has drastically reduced. Naturally, over time as the programs you use get more upgrades, they use more of your systems resources. This includes RAM. First you should check the amount of memory in your device by using this guide.

Freeing Up RAM

You cannot shut down your operating system to free up RAM, so the next step is to shut down some of the background applications by following this guide.

Upgrading RAM

If your computer is still feeling slow, then you may have to upgrade RAM. Information on how to do that can be found in this guide.

Battery Issues

The battery life runs out quickly or the laptop doesn’t turn on at all

Power Adapter is Faulty

Make sure the power adapter is fully plugged in and feel along the cable for any breaks in the wiring. Check the ends of the adapter for any discoloration, which could signify problems with the charger. If you feel a break in the wiring, or the ends of the adapter are discolored, you may need a new power adapter.

Optimize Battery Usage

Some applications use battery power even when they are not in use. You can select which apps to stop using battery by going into “Settings” and selecting the “Battery” page. There a list of apps that are currently using the battery will appear, and you can select which ones to turn off. This will help conserve your battery life.

Battery is Faulty

If your laptop only powers on when the power adapter is plugged in, you have a faulty battery and it needs to be replaced. Check out our guide for replacing the battery here.

Unable to Connect to a Wireless Network

Unsure if Connected to a Wireless Network

From the Start Menu, open the Options item. Under Options, open the item labeled Network and Internet. Go to Wi-Fi Settings and open the menu item. This screen will allow you to change various settings for computer interaction with wireless sources. Enable Wi-Fi connectivity for the computer and verify it is “on” to connect to your network.

Network Not Responding

From the Start Menu, open the Options item. Under Options, open the item labeled Network and Internet. Go to Wi-Fi Settings and open the menu item. On the same screen for enabling the wireless connectivity, click on your network and Forget this network. This will reset the computer settings for the specified network and allow you to once again reconnect using default settings.

Faulty Wi-Fi Card

If you can not connect to a wireless network, or your connection is very slow, you need to replace your Wi-Fi card. See our guide on how to replace your Wi-Fi card here.

Hard drive/SSD issues

The Hard drive stores information for the computer, it can be replaced for added capacity or removed to save work and transferred to another device. If the hard drive fails, the only way an individual can repair it is by replacing it. Alternatively, there is a way to exchange hard drive to SSD which acts like a hard disk for faster processing speeds.

Disk Fail

There are many reasons why hard drive failures occur. If the message 'Hard Disk Fail' is displayed, the hard drive will be recognized, but the information will not be fully read. Bad sectors usually occur on hard disks. Further work is damaging because it is a symptom that is not recognized due to internal problems. Therefore, you must replace the hard drive. Here is the guide to replace HDD.

PCB circuit board damaged

If PCB burns, over current or short is the cause. When a PCB burns, it affects the hard drive. In such a case, replace the PCB first to verify that the hard drive is working. If the hard drive is still not recognized, the hard drive is also required to be replaced. Here is the guide on how to replace it.

Noise on disk

The head of a hard drive helps to read or record data. However, if the head is damaged, the hard drive cannot be recognized, and the noise is generated. The head is very sensitive and can also be damaged by static electricity. Also, when the spindle motor is damaged, noise occurs while turning. In these cases, parts of the hard drive must be repaired or replaced. Here is the guide on how to replace it.

Bad Sector

Bad sectors is the space which cannot record data on hard disks. It almost occur during manufacturing, but sometimes it form during computer use. Bad sectors cause the system to slow down, and cannot able to read data or excess to it. Once there is an unwanted bad sector, hard disks cannot be recognized. A software bad sector can be solved by formatting, but if that does not work, a replacement of the hard drive is required. Here is the guide for a replacement.

Slow processing speed

There are many reasons for the slow down of the computer, but most of the cause is the storage system. This model is equipped with an HDD. When it records the information, memories are divided into several parts rather than store in a row. Therefore, if user use laptop for a long time, the speed of opening these files will slow. For fast processing speed, SSD needs to be replaced. HDDs are slow to process internal disks for reading and writing like record plates, but SSD use light and are very fast. Here is the guide on how to replace HDD to SSD.

The problem with HDD is limited in how individuals can cope with them. So it is common to replace hard drives in these cases. Also it can be replaced with SSD instead of HDD for faster processing speed.
