If there is no action when you press the buttons on your Miadore Classic N64 Controller, follow this troubleshooting guide for help.

Controller Isn't Plugged in Properly

Sometimes, the controller may not be plugged into the USB slot all the way, so try unplugging and plugging back in the controller into its corresponding slot.

Device You're Connected to Has a Faulty USB Port(s)

USB ports can be damaged over time, so:

  • Use a light to inspect the port(s) for any damage.
  • If one port doesn't function, try the other ports.

Controller Buttons are Dirty

The inside of the controller can contain dirt, and gunk could stop how the buttons work. Use the Button Replacement guide to open up the controller and access the buttons. Use a cotton swap and isopropyl alcohol to clean the area. Be sure that the buttons and inside of the device are dry before reassembly.

Button Pads are Disconnected

Rubber button pads inside the controller must align with little holes to function. Check if they are aligned. If not, reset them so they are aligned with the buttons.

Button Pads or Buttons are Damaged

Follow the Button Replacement guide to replace the buttons of your controller.

Motherboard Failure

If all other fixes fail, then it’s likely that the motherboard in the controller has stopped functioning and will need to be replaced.
