Computer won't turn on

No matter how much I hit the power button nothing happens.

Drained/bad battery

If your laptop won't turn on, there might be something wrong with the battery. Try plugging it in for a few minutes and then turning it on again. If that doesn't work the battery might be dead. You can try to buy a new battery and replace it using this guide.

Bad display

If you hear the computer turn on but nothing shows up on the screen, then something might be wrong with the screen. You can try to replace the screen following the manufacturer's user manual.

Broken Charger

If none of the above solutions work, then check to make sure your charger isn't damaged. Make sure there are no kinks, breaks or exposed wires. If there are, you might have to get a new charger.

Power Source

Make sure the outlet your computer is plugged into works. To test it, try plugging in a light or another device into the outlet to make sure it runs.

Bad Image

The screen is behaving abnormally.

Flickering Screen

A flickering screen can be caused if the graphics card/display is broken, the battery is defect, or something is wrong with the drivers. To fix these problems, go to the Intel Graphics Control Panel and select Advanced mode. Then, go to the power menu and change the power source to "On battery." Uncheck the "Display Refresh Rate Switch" box, click apply and OK, and the screen should be fixed.

Note: If you have Windows 8.1 and the flickering screen still remains, go to "Graphic Settings," click on Power and On Battery. Switch the setting to maximum performance and turn off "Display power saving technology."

Every time I try to move the cursor or click on something nothing happens.

It's Not Letting Me Scroll

Try to change your mouse pad settings by going to the home screen and typing control panel. Click on the control panel icon and then go to mouse under printer and devices. Change your preferences.

USB Ports not Responding

When I try plugging USB devices into my laptop, I don't get any response on my computer.

Disfunctional USB Device

The problem may lie in your USB device. Try plugging it into other USB ports on other computers that you know will recognize USB devices. If they do not show up on other computers, your USB device may be broken.
