Computer is Not Turning On

The laptop does not show signs of being on when the power button is pressed.

Power Button is Broken

Press the power button on top right side of the laptop for three seconds. If the laptop is not turning on, the power button may be broken. Follow this guide to replace the power button.

Computer is Slow

Windows boot sequence takes far longer than it should and the computer is running slow.

Laptop’s Memory is Full

Check the remaining hard drive space and see if it is almost full. If it is, delete unnecessary files or move them to an external storage option. For additional storage, you can insert a micro SD card in the SD card slot on the left side of the device.

Screen is Not Displaying Anything

The laptop’s screen is black and won’t turn on.

Faulty Battery

Remove the battery for 3 minutes then try starting the laptop again. If the problem persists, try booting the laptop without the battery and while the laptop is connected through the power chord.

Faulty Ram/Faulty Motherboard

If the computer is not starting after checking the LCD and the battery, the RAM may not be working properly. To replace the RAM, you may need to replace the motherboard. To replace the laptop’s motherboard, follow this guide to replace the motherboard.

Broken LCD

If the device is failing to display an image, reboot the computer. If the problem has not been solved, the LCD may be broken. Replace the LCD by following the LCD replacement guide.

Wireless is Not Working

The laptop is not connecting to wireless internet.

Laptop is Not Receiving a Strong Enough Signal

Using a wireless adapter or connecting to ethernet through a USB-C to ethernet adapter can help improve wireless performance.

Not Enough Memory

The laptop does not have enough memory to store new files.

The Laptop is Running Out of Storage

If you have one already a micro SD card can be used to expand the storage of your device. Inserting an SD card into the slot on the left side can increase your storage options.

The Laptop is Not Charging

The laptop is not receiving power or turning on.

Broken Charger/Power Adapter

Sometimes the underlying cause of a failure to charge is not the battery, but the adapter. If you have a spare adapter, test the laptop with that one to determine whether it is your original adapter that is the problem. Consider buying a replacement adapter.

Broken Battery

If the light on the adapter is on, but the battery does not appear to gain charge, consider following the battery replacement guide to replace the battery.

Battery Not Holding Charge

Ensure that the charger/power adapter is functional. If the laptop only turns on when the charger is plugged in, the battery is not holding charge. Follow the battery replacement guide to replace the battery.

No Sound Coming From Headphones

When headphones are plugged in, no sound comes out of the laptop.

Broken Headphones

Attempt to plug in the headphones into the headphone jack on the right side port on the laptop. If no sound comes out, test the headphones on another device to make sure that they work. If the headphones still do not work, consider replacing them.

Faulty Headphone Jack

Try to plug different audio devices into the headphone jack on the right side of the laptop. If none of the sets work, the jack needs to be replaced. Follow this guide to replace the headphone jack.

ASUS, which I like, gets one black mark and no star.

WIN 10 gets one black mark.
