The laptop will not power on when the power button is pressed.

If your battery is not holding a charge or your laptop only powers on when plugged into its power adapter, the battery might be at fault. This can happen when the battery is older and not holding a charge as well as it used to or when there is a manufacturing issue. The keys on the keyboard stay depressed or don’t register.

Over time keyboards can become clogged with dust and other debris. Often, these issues can be resolved by cleaning your keyboard with compressed air. This issue can be exacerbated by keeping the device in a dusty environment or putting the keyboard in the way of falling debris, like crumbs when eating. If after cleaning with compressed air, the keyboard is still malfunctioning, try removing the keycaps and cleaning more thoroughly and checking for any physical damage.
