Bubbles I’m leaning toward the bulbs are not 12 volt. You said they are 12 watt, which is a different thing. 12 volt LEDs are not usual. Since you have been living with your 3 independent systems for awhile, I assume you AT LEAST have a volt meter and know how to use it. If you don’t, immediately punish yourself somehow - you choose. It should be serious though. When you get one and figure how to use it, check the voltage in the sockets that you screw the bulbs into. Don’t you think that would be enlightening? If all your sockets are showing 12 volts on the DC scale, then it’s not the sockets. If some of them are not 12 volts then you have to check the battery/charge controller/array output for that system, but I still suspect that you just have 120 volt LEDs which will not work with 12
Per saperne di piùThere is usually a considerable spark when you power up an inverter. Usually this is done with a disconnect or pretty big breaker. I hope you are using one of these. Your first sentence says there is some problem with OLP overload protection, but later you say there is no load when you make your sparky connection. If you hook up 12 volts DC to your inverter with no loads on the AC output, you should be able to read the AC output with a voltmeter. Borrow one if you don’t have one for heaven’s sake. Are you getting 120 volts? If not, your inverter has internal issues. I’d need a little more information: Inverter brand for example to sort out if what you have is repairable. If you didn’t have proper breakers on the AC output when things went south, you could have cooked it. Control boards are expensive and might not be the problem.
Per saperne di piùThis might be easy. Notice how things change when you rev your engine? Your engine moves a bit when you rev it and that movement pull on hoses and wires including the battery cable connectors. You said you just had your battery changed. A couple of years ago I watched several helpful guys try to help two women start their vehicle. They jumped the battery which started the engine but it died when they disconnected their cables. They ran extension cords to a battery charger and charged the battery for a while. Nothing. I went over and asked when the ladies began having starting trouble. Ever since they’d had their battery changed (on the road) just after they’d left on their trip. Hmm. I gave the battery connectors a healthy twist with my fingers and they both rotated! The ladies had some wrenches in the trunk which was all we needed to tighten up the cable connectors. You may have the same problem. Almost all battery connectors are dirty, and show white and green chemical growth. When a battery is changed,...
Per saperne di piùWow. 14 months it worked fine and then this very odd thing. It’s not clear what you mean by stops cooling. When you have the door open I assume you are saying that the compressor is running which you should be able to hear. Then if you push the door closed button with your finger with the door open, does that turn off the compressor? The circuit which turns your compressor off and on is controlled by a thermostat which you can sort of adjust (as F.Dryer, mentions)- but it worked fine for 14 months. The circuit that turns the light on and off has no connection with the compressor logic. If you can turn the compressor on and off with the door switch somebody has to check the wiring. In the meantime you could Magiver the thing: Make a hole in the door opposite of the switch button so the light doesn’t turn off (take the bulb out too), and neither does the compressor. When you get it fixed you can fill the hole with something.
Per saperne di piùIt sounds like you ran out of gas. If there is something wrong, like you said the plugs are not sparking, there should be a check engine light and the EDU certainly should be storing some codes. You said you couldn’t get any code. Are you experienced with a code reader? I’d take it to somebody with a professional code reader before I’d change a computer. Know what’s wrong before changing parts willy nilly.
Per saperne di piùIf you could sing a few bars of the “trailing” noise it might be helpful. Does it sound like a cowboy song when they are riding the trails? Could it be some brush got snagged last time you did some off roading and it’s rubbing against a tire? Why don’t you jack it up and get it on 4 good jack stands so the wheels are off the ground. Then start it up, put it in first gear and let it idle see if you can narrow down where the noise is coming from.
Per saperne di piùIt sounds like your engine is fine. You even said the transmission just doesn’t shift up. Changing the throttle body, the air filter or even the engine isn’t going to make the transmission shift properly. Change the engine? Are you kidding. For sure it’s because you are using the wrong brand of tires! Not really. You said you changed the transmission TWICE? I don’t believe it. Maybe you changed the transmission fluid twice although I doubt that because there’s a good chance THAT would help. When the car is supposed to shift all sorts of little valves have to slide around shifting hydraulic pressure from here to there and if they are all sludged up, they get stuck and the transmission can’t shift. Unfortunately the Fit doesn’t have a transmission pan you can take off or a transmission fluid filter, so at this point it’s going to be hard to get the sludge out, if that’s the problem. You could drain and refill it with clean Honda ATF, but that only changes about 3 quarts. Maybe a couple of changes about a...
Per saperne di piùAssuming it ran fine just recently, I’d change the gas. Dump it out, pump the primer bulb, blow out the tank with air, put in some brand new non alcohol gas/oil. See if that makes a difference
Per saperne di piùThe battery is newish, and the devise seems to work so I’d look elsewhere first. Like what? Does your AC receptacle have 120 volts and could the hot neutral be reversed? Not likely but possible. I’d borrow other chargers to compare with the one you’ve got. If that doesn’t help, look up the process to give your battery a “tune up”. It’s something like - run it all the way down to dead and then charge it all the way without using it. Do that twice and see what happens. CharlieG
Per saperne di piùThere are a bunch of youtube videos about how to tune a 2 stroke carb. It sounds like the low speed adjustment is too rich, but you just have to try turning it in and out. Don’t panic, it’s easy. CG
