How to fix printer problems
how to fix printer problems
Questa è una buona domanda?
Epson no longer manufactures toner for these models - they exited the laser printer market many years ago. I know they still sell supplies for some of them in the EU and other countries, but not in the US or Canada these days. Take this caveat at face value and assess the repairability based on that. Sometimes you find NOS on eBay, but when the remanufacturing companies quit and you are hnging on buying years old NOS or having to buy toner from a EU member state, importing it and having to make sure the chip isn't regionalized, the printer is a dead end. This isn't like the bombproof HP LJ 2XXX and 4XXX series where the toner is no longer available from Canon/HP but they're still so well loved by their owners the aftermarket stepped in for these years ago. Epson's lasers never hit LJ 4000 series cult classic status in that sense. The same is true for the pre-2016 HP lasers without the dynamic security crap - they're cult classics like the 4000 series, but with AirPrint.
The first thing I would probably check is the main controller and laser for faults. If either of these is faulty, then you will likely need to replace the printer. I very much doubt that Epson still manufactures spare parts for its laser printers, given the shift to inkjet technology. It could also be due to a faulty HVPS, so that is another part you can check.
This model is OLD, OLD - it has the 90's Epson color imaging logo before color was mainstream in the early 2000s with other manufacturers. Anyway, here's the SM to check the DC controller and laser for faults that could cause this: https://www.promotoner.com/media/models/...
