Memory Stick Duo Pro not clicking in place

Just found a family Sony Handycam DCR-DVD508 and have been stoked to use it. But, in buying a Sony Memory Stick Pro Duo, it won’t seem to click into place as most SD cards would do for most cameras. Is it that it doesn’t click all the way in or is it that the “card catcher” is in need of repair/replacement?
