My battery only works when plugged in
When I plug the charger then laptop works but when it not plugged in it shuts down.

Well I will suggest you to replace your batter with the new one. It the best solution to the issue which your facing

Please confirm the full model number of the laptop as seen on the product information label on the bottom of the laptop.
