iPod sleeps when volume button is pressed
whenever the volume up is pressed the ipod screen sleep as if you pressed the sleep button on top.
tried to restore but still does the same thing

Have you opened this iTouch for repair?
It seems like there could be a short.
It it was jailbroken you may have altered the sbs settings
Back up and restore.
If still under warrenty
you can get it fixed for free
