Introduzione

Vai al passo 1

Replace a worn‑out mechanical switch when a burner runs at the wrong heat, the oven programs misbehave, or the selector no longer clicks. Doing the swap yourself restores reliable temperature control and keeps a sturdy older stove in service. Work carefully, follow your photos, and protect your warranty by respecting the manufacturer’s instructions.

    • Unplug the stove from the mains outlet before any work.

    • Electrical repairs on a live appliance risk shock, fire, and damage to components.

    • Undo the four screws that secure the metal cooktop to the chassis.

    • Store the screws safely so none go missing during reassembly.

    • Raise the cooktop straight up to expose the row of mechanical switches.

    • Pull the plastic knob straight off the faulty switch.

    • Avoid heavy scrubbing of the knob markings because they rub off easily.

    • Remove the two screws that hold the switch to the front panel.

    • Photograph every terminal from multiple angles to record wire colours and positions.

    • Ease each spade connector off the switch with a flathead screwdriver, working evenly on both sides.

    • Thick heater wires need firm pressure, so work slowly and feel for movement to avoid cracking the plastic housing.

    • Do not remove or shift the coloured bridging links because an incorrect position can cause a short circuit.

    • Link positions differ between models, so keep them exactly where they are.

    • Take the removed switch to a spare‑parts supplier to match the exact model.

    • Wipe away grease and debris before installing the new switch.

    • Push each wire onto the corresponding terminal using your reference photos.

    • Confirm every connector is fully seated and in its original order.

    • Tighten the two mounting screws to lock the switch to the front panel.

    • Lower the cooktop into position and reinstall the four fixing screws.

    • Plug the stove back in and test every cooking zone and oven program for correct operation.

    • If any function behaves abnormally, disconnect power immediately and re‑check the wiring.

Conclusione

Your stove should now respond smoothly to every knob position, extending its reliable service. Store the reference photos for future repairs and follow manufacturer guidance to keep your warranty intact. If problems persist, consult a qualified technician.
