
How to replace the heating element in your glass ceramic hob

Passo 2 Remove the hob from the worktop

Undo the four mounting screws on the underside of the worktop, two on each side.

Lift the hob vertically out of the cut‑out once all screws are removed.

Passo 3 Protect the glass surface

Lay a soft towel on the bench and flip the hob so the glass rests safely on it.

Passo 4 Locate the faulty heating element

Confirm which cooking zone no longer heats and locate its matching element under the glass.

Passo 6 Disconnect the element wiring

Pull the spade terminals off the heating element one by one using insulated pliers.

Passo 7 Release the mounting hardware

Undo the single central screw holding the distance spacer to the chassis.

Press the spring clips and lift the heating element clear of its seat.

Passo 9 Clean the mounting area

Wipe the metal housing with a clean cloth to remove grease and stains.

Passo 10 Install the new element

Set the new element into the housing, aligning its tabs with the cut‑outs.

Press down until the spring clips engage and the element sits flush.

Insert and tighten the mounting screw to secure the spacer.

Passo 11 Reconnect the wiring

Reconnect each wire to its original terminal following your photo reference.

Passo 12 Re‑install the hob

Rotate the hob upright, guide the cable back through the worktop and lower the unit into the cut‑out.

Refit the four mounting screws and tighten evenly.

Reconnect the power plug and test the repaired cooking zone.

Your hob should now heat evenly again. Monitor the repaired zone for a few minutes; any smells or unusual noises mean power off immediately and re‑check connections. Retain all photos and notes for future maintenance and dispose of the old element at an authorised e‑waste collection point.
