Camera won't turn on

No matter what you do, you can't get your camera to turn on.

Drained/bad battery

If your camera won't turn on, you may need to charge or replace the battery. If you haven't recently used your camera the battery may be drained or dead. Click here to view the battery replacement guide.

Bad display

It is possible that it appears nothing is happening because the display is bad and must be replaced. Click here to view the LCD disassembly guide.

Bad Motherboard

If none of the above fix the problem the issue possibly lies in the motherboard.

Zoom doesn't retract

Pushing the zoom button does nothing.

One or more of the zoom buttons are broken

It is possible that the one or more of the zoom buttons are broken and need to be replaced.

Lens is broken

It is possible that the lens is broken and needs to be replaced.

Lens cover doesn't open or close properly

The lens cover doesn't work properly.

Internal spring is broken

It is possible that the lens cover spring is broken and needs to be replaced.

Lens doors are jammed

Lens Doors may need to be removed and lubricated.

LCD screen is broken

Camera turns on but the display is cracked or broken.

LCD screen is cracked, broken, or doesn't turn on

Flash doesn't work

The flash is turned on, but doesn't work when I take pictures.

Flash bulb is dead

It is possible that the flash bulb is dead and needs to be replaced.

Flash charge capacitor is dead

It is possible that the capacitor that stores the flash's charge is dead and needs to be replaced.

The case is broken.

Camera was submerged in water and doesn't work anymore

Camera won't turn on after being dropped in water

Camera has internal water damage

If the camera has been dropped in water, it may have internal water damage and may need to be dried out. The Thirsty Bag is a liquid absorption bag designed to dry all the water out of your device after it gets wet.
