Loss of Audio:
No audio is coming out of the device or the sound seems to be muffled or low
Misconfigured Settings
Simple settings such as muted speakers or inactive speakers could be the reason why there is no sound.
Wrong Speaker Configuration
Speaker could not be set to default audio for the device which would not allow the integrated speakers to function as the primary source of audio.
Damaged or Faulty Speakers
Speaker components themselves could be damaged or become disconnected.
Keyboard stops responding to input
When typing with the integrated keyboard, none of what was typed appears on the screen
Outdated or Corrupt Device Drivers
Sometimes drivers can become outdated and may need an upgrade, or the driver could become corrupted and would therefore need to be replaced with new ones.
Dirty Keys
Dirt and dust could get into the keys and make the keys get jammed or not allow for the user to fully press down on them when they need to.
Some easy solutions you can try are:
- Restart your laptop
- Try to clean the keyboard
- Check if it's a hardware issue
- Check your keyboard drivers and settings
- Make sure you have the right keyboard layout
- Plug in an external keyboard if integrated one does not respond
Laptop is excessively hot
When using the laptop, it gets excessively hot to the touch and seems to lag
Clogged Fans
Having a functioning cooling system is vital to allow a computer to work. The fans in the component may be clogged with dust and dirt which can cause them to stop spinning as they should.
Non-suitable environment
Being in a room that is too hot or lacks good ventilation could affect the performance of the device and make it easier to heat up.
Too many running programs
Having too many programs and applications running at the same time could severely affect the performance of the device and cause it to be overworked.
Tips:
- Make sure the laptop air pathways are clean
- Try to prevent the laptop from getting hit by sunlight or performing in a hot environment such as a space with poor ventilation
Battery does not charge
When plugging in the power adapter, the computer will not charge or does not detect the power cable
Faulty charger
In most cases, a faulty charger is the main factor as to why the battery does not charge. If this is the case, replacing the charger with a new one will do the trick.
Battery Damage
The battery component itself could be damaged as well. If this is the case, a replacement battery should be installed.
Tips:
- Buy a new charger
- Clean the power port
- Replace battery
Battery is not detected
"Battery not detected" message pops up on the screen or laptop does not charge properly
Faulty Battery
A faulty battery could cause "battery not detected" messages to appear on the screen, in which case replacing the battery unit is the best option.
Outdated Drivers
Specific drivers could be outdated and in need of either updates or replacement with a newer driver.
Overheating
The laptop could be experiencing overheating, which would cause the component to shut down until it is cooled off again.
Tips:
- Don't use the laptop while it is charging as this may cause it to overheat
- The last resort would be to buy a new batter
