Printer will not turn on

When you press the power button the printer does not turn on

The printer is not plugged in

If the printer is not turning on, first check to make sure that it is plugged in. If it is not, plug it in and try to turn it on.

Bad wall outlet

If the printer is plugged in and still does not turn in, the wall outlet may be bad. Try plugging something else into the wall outlet to see if it works. If not, plug the printer into a different wall outlet and try to turn it on.

Bad power supply

If the wall outlet works but the printer still does not turn on, the power supply may be bad. In this case it is necessary to replace the power supply. You can purchase one online or through the manufacturer.

Bad motherboard

If the power supply is not the issue, the motherboard may be bad. In this case, you will need to replace the motherboard.

Printer is not printing

When the printer is prompted to print nothing happens

The printer is not connected to the computer

If the printer does not respond when being prompted to print, first make sure that the USB cord is connected to the computer. If it is not, connect it to the computer and try to print.

The printer is out of paper

If the printer is connected to the computer and still doesn't print, it may be out of paper. Check to make sure there is paper in the feeder. If there is not, load some paper and try to print.

The printer is out of ink

If the printer has new ink cartridges and still does't print, the ink cartridges may not be installed correctly. If this is the case, make sure all of the ink cartridges are pressed down until they snap into place and make sure the cartridge cover is snapped into place as well.

The printer motor is damaged

If the ink cartridges are installed correctly and the printer still doesn't print, the printer motor may be damaged. In this case, you will need to replace the printer motor.

Printer keeps jamming paper

The printer continuously has paper jams

Paper tray is overloaded

If the printer continuously has paper jams, first make sure that the paper tray is not overloaded. The printer holds a maximum of 30 sheets of paper in the automatic tray. If there is more than this, or if the paper exceeds the fill line, remove some paper and try to print.

Paper is curled or wrinkled

If the paper does not exceed the fill line and the printer still jams, the paper in the tray may be curled or wrinkled. Check to make sure the paper does not have and curled wrinkled edges. If it does, replace the paper and try to print.

Faulty paper eject frame assembly

If the paper in the tray is not curled or wrinkled, the printer may have a faulty paper eject frame assembly. In this case, you will need to replace the paper eject frame assembly.

Printer is producing poor quality prints

The printer works but the prints are not satisfactory

Printer is low on ink

If the printer is producing poor quality prints, the ink may be low. If the ink is low, the ink cartridges will need to be replaced. Replace the ink cartridges and check to see if the print quality is better.

The print head is dirty or damaged

If the ink cartridges are not low and the print quality is still poor, the print head may be dirty or damaged. In this case, you will need to clean or replace the print head.

Scanner is unresponsive

When the printer is prompted to scan nothing happens

When using FAX function the printer says no dial tone, yet I tested and there is a dial tone on the house line.
