The Power button is lighting up and the fans are turning on, but the screen stays black.

The back-light to your computer could be off or not working. To test this get a flashlight or other source of bright light and shine it on the screen at an angle. If you see the screen with the bright light shining on it this means that the back-light is broken or off.

Too check if the back-light is off log into your computer and go to the action center, which is the box on the right bottom of the screen. Click on this and then adjust the brightness, which is a little sun, to 100%. This should turn the back-light on and you should be able to see your screen.

When I try to play sound from my laptop it will not make any sound.

If the speakers are not playing any sounds, you can reinstall the audio drivers for your device. First, you need to go to you device's Control Panel, and you then click on Device Manager. You then click on Sound, Video, and Game Controllers. You have two options to choose from: you can update the drivers, or you can uninstall and reinstall the audio drivers. Both of these options require an internet connection.

If the speakers do not work after the re-installation of the drivers, try plugging in a pair of headphones. If the headphones are working then it is the speakers that needs to be replaced follow this replacement guide.

My computer will not connect to the internet.

Check if your device is connected to the internet by looking at your WiFi list in your devices' settings. If it is connected but nothing will load, you can forget the network and rejoin the network again. Clicking on the network should bring up an option like "Forget This Network". You can then rejoin the network.

If you aren't connected to any WiFi network, check and make sure that your WiFi is turned on in your settings. An easy way to tell that your WiFi isn't turned on is if there are no networks showing in your device's network list.

My computer starts up fine, but I can not use the keyboard. Only my touch pad is working.

If your device's keyboard isn't working, you can reinstall the keyboard drivers. By going to the Control Panel, and clicking on Device Manager. From there, you the option to update your keyboard drivers, or uninstall and then reinstall them. Both options require an internet connection.

If your devices' keyboard drivers are up to date and the keyboard still doesn't work, you can use an external keyboard instead. Connect the keyboard to one of the device's USB ports and make sure it is selected as your primary keyboard in the Device Manager.

My Computer seems to be running slow and I want to make it faster.

By getting rid of unused processes, you can speed up your computer. By holding the CTRL + ALT + DELETE you can open up the task manager to see what is using the most CPU. From their, you can end the tasks that you don't need as long as it's not a Operating System process. In addition, you can go into Control Panel and stop programs that run on startup (ex. Skype).
