Tablet Won't Turn On

No matter what you do, you can't get your tablet to turn on.

Hold Switch On

Before going to the extreme step and opening up your tablet, try holding down the power button located in the upper right hand corner for about 10 seconds. If this does not turn the tablet on, continue reading.

Drained/Bad Battery

Plug your tablet into a power source using the wall adapter to charge. Leave the device to charge for 10 to 15 minutes. If it does not charge when connected to a power source, you most likely have a bad battery. You will need to replace it. See our battery repair guide for replacing the battery.

Bad Display

If there are no signs of feedback from the screen it is possible that your display is out. If your tablet is making sounds like it is running and you can hear things like the processor or fan your display is most likely bad and you will need to replace it. Skip to the section Unresponsive Touch Screen located below.

Broken Power Button

If your tablet charges but you cannot get it to turn on, it is possible that something as simple as your power button is broken. See our broken button repair guide to fix this.

Broken Motherboard

If your tablet still will not turn on after trying all of the above solutions, it could be that the motherboard is fried or defective. See our Motherboard repair guide for instructions on removing the motherboard.

Tablet Will Not Charge

Plugging in your tablet does not charge it

Bad Cable Connection

Make sure the USB cable is not damaged or dirty. After, use the wall charger to try and charge your tablet.

Broken Charger or USB Cord

Try charging your tablet with different chargers to check if the cord is faulty.

Obstructed/Bad Dock Connector

Clean the dock where the micro USB plugs into the tablet and then try charging the device. If it still does not charge, the connector may be broken and will need to be replaced.

Connectivity Issues

You are experiencing problem connecting to a wireless network

Make Sure the Connection is Valid and Available

When you experience a connectivity issue, first make sure the network you are trying to connect to is valid. Try connecting to it with a different device.

Check Your Configuration

If there is no problem with the network, it is very likely you configured your wireless settings on the tablet wrong. Go to settings → networks and configure the wireless network you are trying to connect to. Most wireless networks give you DHCP IP instead of static IP. Also make sure you are using the correct authentication method for the network. For some networks, a CA certificate or a user certificate may be required. You can contact your network provider for this information.

Defective Wifi Antenna

If the above solutions did not work for you, you may have a defective antenna, you will need to replace it.

Limited or Distorted Audio

Your tablet produces either a distorted sound or no sound at all through the speakers/headphones

Broken Headphones

Test your headphones with another device to make sure the headphones are not the problem. Ignore this step if the internal speakers are the problem.

Broken Speaker

A broken speaker is the most likely problem. First clean your audio jack to make sure this is not the problem. If the sound is still distorted or not working you will need to replace your speaker. See our speaker replacement guide for additional assistance.

Unresponsive Touch Screen

Your tablet’s touch screen is unresponsive in that it does not register your touch at all or is not registering your touch in the way you intend it to.

Dirty Screen or Fingers

Wash your hands and clean your screen with a cloth and cleaning solution. The touch screen is heat sensitive so in order to work properly, it needs direct contact with human fingers or a compatible stylus. Greasy hands or a greasy screen may be creating response issues.

Broken Screen

If cleaning the screen makes no difference restart your device by holding down the power button for 10 - 15 seconds to make sure that it is not a software issue. If the touch screen still does not respond properly you most likely have a broken screen and will have to replace it.
