Not Charging

Device not charging

In the event that your machine is plugged in, but not charging, and the charger block itself is plugged in, the likely cause is a faulty charging cable. A new cable will be necessary.

Laptop won’t power on

Device will not turn on

If the battery is charged: Remove the battery and hold down the power button for 20 seconds. Put the battery back in and plug in the power cord; when the blue charged light comes on, power on the laptop.

If the battery is not charged: Plug in the power cord to charge the battery, wait a few seconds, and then turn on your laptop.

To see if the battery is holding charge: Remove the power plug after about 20 minutes and restart the computer; f it restarts correctly then the battery is holding a charge.

Distorted Audio

Audio is distorted

Ensure then the volume is turned up; press the FN key and up arrow to raise the volume. Open up device manager, and ensure all audio settings are correct. Restart computer, open device manager, right click on the sound icon and select troubleshoot sound problems. To update sound driver, open the device manager select the option to update sound driver, then restart the computer. The sound driver may need to be reinstalled: Go to the device manager  > sound, video, and game controller. Select the sound driver and right click on it. Select uninstall and delete sound driver. Restart the computer and go to ++https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/dr... Type the computer model number and select your product. Download the latest audio driver from the Acer website.

Failure to read CDs/DVDs

Device will not play CDs/DVDs

Ensure the disk you are using is oriented correctly. If that does not work, try another disk. If no disks can be read, the CD/DVD drive may need to be replaced.

Black Display

Screen will not display

Ensure that the computer is powered on. Make sure the internal display is connected. This can be done by pressing FN + F5. Disconnect any external displays, unplug any drives or docks, and remove CDs/DVDs from the optical drive turn the laptop off, and remove the battery. Drain any excess power by holding the power button for 10 seconds. Put the battery back in. All devices should be reconnected to the computer boots correctly to see where the failure is.

Hard Drive Operating Incorrectly

Hard drive inoperable

If the hard drive is operating slow or sluggish upon boot, disconnect all external devices. and restart the machine. Run a malware/virus scan using up-to-date software. It is possible that the hard drive may need to be replaced.
