I did a myriad of things but these 3 in this order worked for me. 1. installed the touchpad driver from acer.com in compatibility mode and selected Win 8. 2. rebooted and pressed F2 to get into the bios. Reset bios to default and on the Main Tab selected Basic for the touchpad 3. Pressed F10 to save and exit, and when I got into Windows my mouse was moving. The only caveat is, I cannot scroll. In my reading I believe that will only work when I switch it to Advanced but when I do, the touchpad stops working again.
