Thanks for the suggestions. I'm also afraid that removing the front panel and redoing the whole thing might create more problems. I know it's not under warranty, and unfortunately the closest Apple Store is a 5 hour drive. I think I might do the tape for a little bit until the next time I can get to an Apple Store and see if they will replace it as a manufacturing defect.
