This CD Player FM AM Radio system is now in its fourth generation of production. Originally introduced in 1984 (Radio only model, Acoustic Wave Music System). A model with a CD player was added in 1992. Earlier model depicted in photo.

How do I dislodge a cd from the player?

I have a cd stuck in my Bose CD player. The eject button on the remote will not dislodge it. I'd read, on U-Tube no less, a few years ago that shaking the player would work Didn't and seemed a rough solution.

I have this problem too. The CD will not eject. Any ideas how to get it to come out?

If the Drive is one with a tray. there will be a small hole on the face of the tray, usually on one side. Take a paper clip, bend it open and push it into the hole, like you would do to open the SIM tray on your phone.That should open the tray. If no tray, see my other answer.

My Bose will not take a disk in. Like the motor is dead. You hear a slight noise when the disk separates the sensor which would normally activate the motor to take the disk in. I took apart and manually inserted disk. It read and played the cd no problem. I hit eject but it wouldnt eject. Flashed ejecting on screen and then Said disk error when it wouldnt eject. If I hit eject again it would spin the disk up and play again. I replaced the motor but it did not fix anything. I have recapped the board. No change. Very frustrating.

Stuck CDs can be caused by a number of faults.

  1. 2 CDs in the slot
  2. Bad load/unload drive belt

  2. The only way to fix it is to open it up - which might be a problem with the CD stuck.

Then figure out how to release the CD.

Turn the power to the player off and on. Do not use the remote power-on button. You can do this by unplugging from the back of the unit and pluging it back in.

I'm shocked but the "Shaking it" suggestion actually worked! Here's what I did:

  1. Unplugged power and any output cables.
  2. Turned the unit upside down.
  3. Dropped it from an inch or two onto carpet.

I didn't plan on fixing the unit today I was just dusting it off and removing it from its shelf so I could dust that. When I powered on again the Bose made its normal CD mechanism noises but about 1/4" of the CD came out so I grabbed it and out it came!

NOTE: I haven't tried inserting/playing a CD! I have the external 3 CD player from Bose (which is working fine) So for now I just won't play CD's directly from the Bose Wave Radio.

NOTE 2: :-) My curiosity got to me. Currently I can insert, play, eject, a CD from the main player.
