How to connect power button directly to logic board?

Hi everyone!

First of all i'd like to apologize for my bad english. It's not my native language.

So here's the problem:

I have an A1278 unibody macbook with cracked display glass and keyboard, spilled with coffe. Since i got it almost for free (4 beers), i've teared it down and threw it to the far shelf till better times.

Since "better times" came" i decided to make an imac-like desktop machine out of these parts.

And the only problem i faced so far, is that the power button is connected to keyboard. But i need it to be connected directly to logic board.

So i would be gratefull for the keyboard ribbon cable pinout or any suggestions!

Thanks!

Ok. Figured out myself.

You should connect 5 & 6 pins to boot macbook.

Also last two pins immediately shut down power if connected.

That is very interesting. If I may ask where did you find this information and/or the picture. Thank you

Well, i connected everything together and just tried to connect random pins with a flat screwdriver. It covered 6 pins.

So when i succeed and macbook booted up, all i had to do, was to locate exact 2 pins out of 6. This took me about an hour.

And because there is no information about it anywhere, i decided to make a picture and to share information with others.

For troubleshooting purpose there are often power pads on many Apple logic boards. Most of the times there are two solder pads with a power icon or PWR letters over the pads. Check it out, maybe it's possible to solder two wires to a switch and use the switch to power up the machine.

Yeah, I did searched for this pad, but this macbook seems not to have any.

Not an answer but a question will this work on the macbook pro a1278 as well

I found a power pad right above the SATA/Video connectors.
