No output or input, light is on.
When I turn it on the TV gets a signal but nothing comes up, Iv'e had the console for a long time with no trouble and it's just stopped working. when this happened my PS3 overheated then I shut it off and now it has died.

Have you tried resetting the video settings? You do this by pressing and holding the power button with the console off until it starts to beep.

What about using a different cable and perhaps even a different output device? Are you running you display over HDMI or over the composite cable? Try using the other connection method.
