messaging app emoji not working

I made a new update a few weeks ago. the new feature changed the text mesaaging app a little. there is a dark grey bar at the top of the keyboard with the emoji, button, microphone button, clipboard button, keyboard button, setting button, and another one Im not sure what it does. The only thing that works is the keyboard button and setting button. I cant use the emoji and microphone feature in my messages. How can I fix this?
