I do not know where you are but here a link for the Nikon Digital Imaging Warranty for the Americas. It states that there is a ''1 year warranty'' on the camera, ''from the date of purchase''. It also explains what you have to do, if your camera is still within the warranty period, to make a warranty claim for repair.
