Background and Identification

The Samsung Galaxy Tab is an Android tablet series designed by Samsung Electronics. The series debuted in 2010 with the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0, which was the first tablet to ever run on the Android operating system. Additional versions of this tablet were released with 7.7, 8.9 and 10.1-inch displays. In 2012, the series continued with the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2, followed by the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 in 2013, and both the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite and Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 in 2014.

Samsung launched their high-end tablet series, the Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro, in 2014. Another high-end tablet line was released the same year, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S. In 2015, the mid-range Samsung Galaxy Tab A series and budget friendly Samsung Galaxy Tab E series were introduced.

A decade later, Samsung is still releasing new models of the Galaxy Tab. In 2020, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite, Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2020), and Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 5G were introduced to the market.

Samsung’s Galaxy Tab is a top competitor of Apple’s iPad.
