Light Switch

A light switch is an electrical device that is used to control the flow of electricity to a light fixture or group of light fixtures. It is typically installed on a wall, and allows a person to turn the light on or off as desired.

A typical light switch consists of a switch lever or toggle that can be moved up or down to open or close an electrical circuit. When the switch is in the "on" position, the circuit is closed, and electricity flows through the switch to the light fixture, causing the light to turn on. When the switch is in the "off" position, the circuit is open, and electricity is prevented from reaching the light fixture, causing the light to turn off.

Light switches can come in a variety of styles and designs, including toggle switches, rocker switches, dimmer switches, and smart switches that can be controlled by a smartphone or other smart device. They are commonly found in homes, offices, and other buildings, and are an essential component of electrical systems that provide lighting.
