== Clogged Brush Hub ==

Cleaning the hub is quite simple:

* Clean the accumulated hair fibers and lint from around the hub.
** Reinstall the side brush and test to see if it will turn by hand. If so, test the unit to see if the brushes now spin.
*** Note: it is good practice when a unit has this sort of clog to check inside the gearbox as well, even if it runs properly, as the hair often makes its way inside the gears and can cause issues down the road. It is effective preventative maintenance. See below for the procedure.

== Faulty Side Brush Gears and Motor ==

If the side brushes are operating roughly, erratically, or not at all you will need to partially disassemble the Roomba to check the drive train. You will need to do this to replace the motor as well.

You may find it less challenging to just obtain a replacement drive module, especially if the motor seems to be the part with the problem rather than the gears. You will still have to disassemble your Roomba, though, so keep going to get there.

* Controlla se ci sono capelli o altra sporcizia tra gli ingranaggi, spesso sono avvolti intorno agli alberi degli ingranaggi. Se li trovi, rimuovili e vai al passo successivo.
* Ispeziona il cuscinetto dell'ingranaggio che muove la spazzola (quello più lontano dal motore). Il foro nel case di plastica inferiore, che funziona da cuscinetto, può essere danneggiato e la spazzola non ruoterà correttamente. Se è consumato, bisogna sostituire l'intero modulo. Se non lo è, continua con lo smontaggio.
