On my acer (Aspire E1-472-6496) the mainboard model is EA40-HW it has a different hardware gap (G1501) and you have to take the whole mainboard out to reach it because there is no quick reach back cover for memory upgrade. Good thing is that these gaps are iconic and my mainboard had only 2 gaps like that next to the memory slot gap G1501 and G1901. When I shorted G1501 it worked. See a attached picture of the gaps located on the right side of the upper memory slot. If you laptop is different, find a gap that looks like the one G2201 or G1501 near the memory slots and follow the following procedure: To clear a lost BIOS password (user or supervisor password), you need to short the clear password hardware gap (G1501) located on the mainboard. 1. Shut down the computer and disconnect the AC adapter, battery and all other peripherals from the computer. 2. Perform the “Removing the Back Memory Cover” on your laptop. 3.
