Hello, my name is Alan Salim. The school that I currently go to is California State University, Bakersfield (CSUB). The major I chose to do is Kinesiology. I chose this major because I found the study of the functional aspects of the human body very interesting. My aspiration in the future is to become a Physician Assistant. My hope is that I will be able to become a PA and be able to help people's lives become a lot better. Some skills that I have learned and acquired over the years include good communication skills, problem-solving, and time management. Some of the major accomplishments in my life have come in sports and education. I have been able to maintain really good grades as well as being named the best player and captain of my high school soccer team for 3 straight years. I have also volunteered at hospitals for over 100 hours in order to help make a difference and to be a helping hand to hospitals that were in need. In terms of repair experience, I have been able to repair a broken leg of a table as well as be able to fix the seat of a chair. I have won a lot of awards in school for my grades as well as awards for my play in soccer. I have been playing soccer for over 15 years and I have won various accolades from Goal of the Year to Winning Player of the Year for my soccer team 8 years in a row. I currently belong in an organization called BAMA which is an organization in Bakersfield based on my culture and heritage. I had been the treasurer of this organization for 1 year from 2021-2022. I am still an active member of the organization as I like to help the organization in its growth and the teachings of my culture. In my spare time, I really like playing sports such as soccer, tennis, basketball, and volleyball. I also like to watch TV specifically watching K-dramas. My experience with this project will benefit me because it is something I am not accustomed to so I am very excited to learn how to properly repair the strings of an electric guitar. I have played an electric guitar before but I never knew how to properly repair the strings so now I will get the opportunity to learn how to do it. Some fun facts about me are that I love to cook food, and my favorite food to make is Pasta. I also love to Barbecue, especially with my family and loved ones. I am also ambidextrous which has been a blessing for me because I have been able to do things using both hands without ever feeling like one hand was weaker than the other. I also love to travel as I have recently gone to Lake Tahoe and Yosemite National Park.
