Can anyone tell me what “critical-process-died” means? That is the answer I get when trying to start my computer.

I was having the same problem and as others have done, I have looked all over the net for answers but haven’t had much luck but at one point I saw an article about the processor overheating. My computer had been getting very hot so I’m thinking that might be the problem so I have now disassembled my Toshiba L875 and ordered the processor and cooling fan. When I took everything apart I could see that there was black soot around the fan so that tells me that it has been too hot and possibly burned the processor. I’m hoping I haven’t ruined the mother board. I just mentioned this as a possibility for you to consider.
