PSP 3000 Problem: Power Board

Hello,I have a PSP3000 that doesn't turn on. It had a fuse blown that I bridged and now boots only if I short the GND and power pin on the power on off board. While the console is turned on the green light is off and when it is turned off I can only see a dim orange led. If I try to use the power switch while I am in main menu it works like the hold button...I changed the power board but there is the same problem.

Also, somebody has been inside before. Is it surely a PSP 3000 board?

Any advice?

Hi!

Yes. You already tried replacing the power board with switch, right?

If yes, then please replace the button flex cable that connect to the power switch and motherboard as well. This one “could” cause those kind of issues. Would try that first before proceeding.

If this fails as well, then you might want to check the motherboard for broken IC’s.

If that looks good, I would replace the motherboard..

Please let us know how it goes!

First of all thanks for your answer.

I am not 100% sure that is a psp3000 because it may be a reshell. Board is a Ta090-B .That's psp3000,right?

I will try replacing the flex as you said if it's the correct model.

My pleasure! Yes should be a PSP3000. Could also be a newer 2000, you never know for sure.. what does it say on the sticker below the battery??

Some parts are interchangable with each other.

Would try that first yes! Please let us know how it goes :)!
