No problem! Happy that I'am able to help you to identify wether it's fake or not :D! It's better to buy it at a "well known store". It's more expensive most of the times, but it will be a genuine controller for sure.
Is there a way to return the controller? Looks like you got a pretty bad clone :(.
Yeah, looks like the controller is not genuine :(. Happy that my guide was able to help you to identify :)!
Your welcome :)!
You are totally right. You can even pop it out through the "KB" holes with a plastic spudger, so it will pop out the case.
Hi! You can skip step 11. Just make sure you got the newest Xbox update ready on your USB. Turn on your Xbox with your new Xbox formatted HDD or SSD, and continue with the update on your USB.
I think it’s a genuine controller. The genuine controller is difficult to open anyway. You need to take out the screws, and loose it from the clips. You cant open it with your hands, you need to un-clip it first (ifixit opening picks recommended). I would ignore the led color for now. It’s normal behavior that it’s showing the yellow/orange color while charging.
It depends. There are so many different fakes on the market, so I can’t tell you for sure. I think it’s the rubber inside which is worn/teared. You could try to see if a genuine rubber fits and do the job.
@Arve, if it doesn’t light up and not doing anything, please check the disk lid sensors. There are 2 of them. 1 on the motherboard and the second one is located at the top of the power switch. Please check if they are both okay.
Thanks! I adjusted it straight away.
