Why does my screen flicker like this after about 10 seconds?

Why does my screen go like this about 10 seconds after turning it in, and then soon after the camera shuts down and sometimes gives an err99? Thanks

Hi @inglewood

Check if the procedures shown in this video will fix the problem or not.

Thanks. Done all that. After “rebooting” the camera, same thing happens. Every time.

@inglewood the err99 is a very generic error code. It can show up when there is a lens incompatibility, a battery problem, a shutter problem or bad contact between the body and the lens. I don't think it is related to your LCD issue. That actually looks like a bad LCD display. It will start to get double vision when it warms up. I suggest you consider replacing the display and while you work on your camera, make sure that the ribbon cable and connectors are not bend or corroded. Canon EOS Rebel XSi LCD Screen Replacement

Thanks OldTurkey. I ‘ve ordered the lcd. I noticed that the flex cable joining the power board to the main motherboard has two black (maybe burnt) places where it goes into the plug on the motherboard. Doesn’t look good.

@inglewood hopefully its just the LCD and not the connector or even worse. Anyhow, keeping my fingers crossed that a new lcd will fix this.
