If it is a 2:2 blink error code that this means there's a System board problem - BIOS and ROM failure

This could be due to corrupted BIOS software.

Try a power refresh and check if that resolves the problem.

Here's the procedure:

• Turn off the laptop (if it is on) and disconnect the charger from the laptop (if it is connected).
• Open the laptop and disconnect the main battery cable from the motherboard
• Disconnect the coin cell RTC battery from the motherboard

Here's the service manual for the laptop that will help. Go to p.29 and then p.25 to view the procedure to remove the main battery and the RTC coin cell battery. You don't have to remove the main battery, just disconnect it.

When the RTC battery is disconnected, check its voltage. If it is <2.5V DC (or if it is >5 years old) replace it. Search online for cmos battery for DELL Alienware 13 R3 to find suppliers that suit you best.

• Press and hold the laptop's Power button for a full 30 seconds and then release it.
• Reconnect the RTC coin cell battery, reconnect the main battery, re-assemble the laptop, reconnect the charger and then check if the laptop turns on OK

If it does turn on OK then there may be a message that the date and time are incorrect. This is normal as a power refresh resets the BIOS back to its factory default state. Once the date and time have been corrected, the message won't appear the next time that the laptop is started.

Also any user definable BIOS settings that were changed by you, to suit whatever operating requirement you had, will have to be changed back again as well.
