Felton N Gainey download the maintenance manual for the T540P from here Page 95 deals with the hinges. See if that is something you want to tackle. If there is anything specific that is wrong with your hinges, let us know what the problems are. You can always post some pictures of what you see as a problem by editing your QUESTION. Hello, Ive a ThinkPad E320.
It made love to the ground about 4 years ago...
I'd need to check the T540P, but the hinge mechanisms on the E320 (and other IBM / Lenovos I've had are integral to the chasis mechanics or the "middle" bit of the structure.
That means that the whole middle of your laptop would need to change, (keyboard being top, Back cover being bottom)
What happened or what would you say is the problem with the hinges?
