light keeps flashing when there is no message
light on top left keeps flashing , it does this when there is a message but there are no messages via 101, please help

Hi,
To reset the Message light:
With the phone in standby, open the menu and select Global Setup select VMWI Reset, then select Yes.

The light goes off after following directions; however, shortly there after it starts flashing again............

If you're connected to Telstra via the NBN in Aust. check out Rick's answer (2nd and 4th answers) in this link flashing red light won't turn off.
If not what is the make and model number of the phone?
Another thing does the dial tone have a stuttering sound? If so you may have a voicemail service (not set up though but available) connected to your phone service without your knowledge (some providers do this when they upgrade their equipment and automatically enable the feature for everyone. Contact them to disable the feature.
