Hi @janderl ,

Does the HDD appear in BIOS?

What happens when you try to start the laptop? Are there any error messages etc?

da

Yes the HDD is showing up in the Bios, it tries to boot or tries to run the repair. But the spinning wheel of dots after 3seconds lock up/freeze . And that's all

Go into the BIOS.

If you see an option EFI or not EFI, change it (i.e. if its on EFI, turn it off -- if it is off, switch it to EFI).

Restart the computer, and you should be able to boot Windows 10.

Hi @janderl ,

Try to get into the Windows Recovery Environment menus area.

To do this start the laptop and then once it has started to boot, force shutdown the laptop by holding the power button until it shuts down.

Do this 3 times i.e. Start > boot > force shutdown > start > boot > force shutdown. etc

On the 3rd attempt it should boot into the WRE.

Once you have booted into the Windows Recovery Environment menus select Troubleshooting > Advanced > Startup repair and follow the prompts.

DO NOT select Reset this PC as this will reinstall Win 10 and erase all your data.

If this doesn't work try booting from a Win 10 USB recovery drive.

If you haven't got one, you can create one from any known working Win 10 computer. All you need is a 8GB USB flashdrive and 40-60 minutes of time.

In the host computer Go to Control panel > Recovery and find the link "create a USB recovery drive".

Once you have the recovery drive, insert it into the laptop and then start the laptop and alter the boot option to boot from USB first. Restart the laptop and if it doesn't boot from the USB go into BIOS and enable USB legacy or CSM (I don't know your laptop but one or the other option should be there).

Once you have booted into the Windows Recovery Environment menus select Troubleshooting > Advanced > Startup repair and follow the prompts.

DO NOT select Reset this PC as this will reinstall Win 10 and erase all your data.

Once in WRE > Troubleshooting > Advanced, I went to System Restore and restored to an earlier time. That worked for me. Fortunately, it was only the previous morning.
