Why won't my laptop charge?

Plug in the AC Adapter to the laptop and check display for indication that the laptop is charging. Ensure the output value of the adapter matches the input value of the laptop. Ensure adapter works in separate test by charging a different Toshiba E45-B4100, or a different compatible electronic item.

Turn the laptop off, unplug, and remove the battery for twenty seconds. Now plug in the charger to the laptop from a working power outlet. Check to ensure the green power icon is lit and allow the laptop to charge overnight.
