Source for replacement MagSafe cable

I've looked at the reviews for replacent MagSafe cables for my MacBook charger on eBay and Amazon and they are really dismal. Is there a source for QUALITY replacement cables? I'd like to do a repair that will last at least as long as the original.

I managed to completely destroy one Mac charger trying to replace that cable. But I did salvage the new cable. My plan is to next time split the charger body apart, cut the damaged cable just inside of its strain relief. Then install heat shrink to the two wires, solder the new cable to those, and then reassemble the charger case and "wings". This way I won't have to remove the charger from the bottom half of the shell or mess with the charger circuit board at all. I really think this is the way to go.

Sadly, Apple doesn't offer replacement parts for the AC adapter.

They look at it as a safety issues between what it takes to open the welded case and the possibility of damaging the computer.
