On my Toshiba Satellite C855-26T laptop, I lose display after shutting the display off and turning back on. This could be triggered by closing the lid, waiting the OS to shut the display off due to inactivity or rebooting the laptop.
The only solution that I have found is that I close the laptop, remove the power cord and wait around 5mins. After that, the waiting screen turns back to on again.
I also tried to removing the LVDS display cable from the motherboard and connect display over external HDMI port and same situation happens on that external display too.
* My initial thought was some capacitor that handles reset state got bad condition at LCD panel but having exactly same problem on the external monitor is contradicts with that.
* Overheating can't be the problem because if I make an event to turn to display off right after the laptop is booted I lose the signal again.
Since this is a fairly old laptop, I couldn't find any BIOS updates too.[br]
Now I'm wondering what could make something like this happening. Any ideas?
