How to reinsert swivel adjuster on floor lamp?

Testo:

During a move the swivel adjuster came off my lamp leaving the bulb base dangling with the  wire exposed and I can't reinsert it. Is there a trick to getting the ball back into the shaft? I don't know the brand of lamp.

Type of floor lamp is 3 swivel lamp.
